VPSLatch spent the early 2010s doing one thing properly: fully managed cPanel VPS hosting, sold honestly, supported by engineers who answered their own tickets. It was acquired in 2011, quietly wound down, and the name sat unused for over a decade. In August 2026 we picked it up — and we are rebuilding it from an empty directory.

HostLatch
An operator known in the hosting community as Adam launches HostLatch — cheap OpenVZ containers out of Texas, Chicago and Florida, from about $4.46 a month. It builds a following fast and is sold to GigeVPS in early 2010.

2010
VPSLatch opens
The follow-up act goes the other way: not cheapest, but fully managed. cPanel/WHM bundled at no charge, instant setup, hardened and tuned before handover, SolusVM for control and WHMCS for billing. The tagline on the door reads Managed VPS Experts.

2010–2011
A real publishing habit
A WordPress blog and a customer forum go up alongside the store. Dozens of genuinely useful how-tos — setting nameservers at GoDaddy, changing a CentOS hostname, creating MySQL users in cPanel — plus leaderboard campaigns on WebHostingTalk.

Acquired by HostDime
HostDime.com, Inc. announces the acquisition, completing 1 May. The notice is unusually warm: “Adam has built a wonderful company and we wish to continue the excellent work he’s begun.” Customers move to HostDime’s Core portal; IP addresses and services carry over without downtime.

2011–2013
Under the HostDime roof
Servers move into DimeNOC in Orlando — 20,000 sq ft, storm-rated, dual diesel generators, 70 GigE of transit. Plans expand to UK and Netherlands nodes. Then updates thin out, and by the mid-2010s the brand stops being spoken about.

2024–2025
The part nobody is proud of
Long expired, the domain is picked up by a third party and filled with hundreds of auto-generated foreign-language spam pages. This is what happens to good domains left lying around. Every one of those URLs now returns 410 Gone.

New ownership
The domain is registered afresh, the spam is repudiated, the original artwork is recovered from the archive, and the work of rebuilding a managed hosting platform worthy of the name begins.

Managed actually means managed
The original promise was that hardening, monitoring, migrations and the 2 a.m. investigation were included, not upsold. That is the part of VPSLatch worth reviving, and it is the part we are building around.
Front-line engineers
“You won’t be passed from department to department.” It was on the original about page and it was the right instinct. The first person who reads your ticket should be able to fix it.
The mark
The lime chevron and the lowercase wordmark were drawn in 2010 and still hold up. We recovered the original artwork from the Internet Archive rather than invent something new.
Modern platform, not a museum
OpenVZ containers and 15K SAS arrays were right for 2011. NVMe, KVM, real snapshots and infrastructure-as-code are right for now. Reverence for the brand, none for the stack.
Pricing you can read
No “from” prices that nobody pays, no renewal cliff at month thirteen. What is on the page is what lands on the invoice.
Honest provenance
We are not claiming the original company’s track record as ours. It is a name with a good history that we intend to earn a second time.
To be completely clear about who we are. This site is operated by the new registrant of vpslatch.net. We are not HostDime.com, Inc., we are not the brand’s original founder, and we have no connection to whoever was running spam pages on the domain in 2025. No original customer account, invoice, ticket or credential transferred with the domain — and if you are chasing something from the pre-2013 business, HostDime is the party who would hold those records, not us.

Is this the same company that HostDime acquired in 2011?
No. The original VPSLatch was founded by a hosting operator known in the industry as Adam, and was acquired by HostDime.com, Inc. in 2011. That business no longer trades under this name. The domain lapsed and was registered afresh in August 2026 by an unrelated operator, who is rebuilding the brand from the ground up. We are not HostDime, we are not the original owners, and we hold none of the original company’s contracts, customer data or liabilities.
I was a VPSLatch customer years ago. Is my old account still active?
No. Every original VPSLatch service, invoice, ticket and login ended more than a decade ago, and none of that data transferred with the domain — we have never had access to it and never will. If you have a billing or support question about the historical business, HostDime.com, Inc. is the right party to contact.
Why does searching for vpslatch.net turn up unrelated foreign-language pages?
Between roughly 2024 and 2025, while the domain was expired and in someone else’s hands, it was used to host several hundred auto-generated spam pages in Chinese. Some of those URLs are still sitting in search engine indexes.
They are gone. Every one of those paths now returns HTTP 410 Gone — the strongest signal available for “this page is permanently removed, drop it” — rather than a redirect, because redirecting spam into a real site would be the wrong thing to do. We have also submitted the domain for reconsideration.
When does VPSLatch launch?
No public date yet, deliberately. A hosting company that misses its own launch window is telling you something about how it will handle your maintenance windows. Join the notify list and you will get exactly one email when ordering opens.
What will you actually offer?
A modern reading of the original promise: fully managed virtual servers, a real control panel, transparent pricing, and support from engineers rather than a script. Specifications and pricing go up before ordering opens, not after.
